When I started to promote my directory, I began to submit it to other directories. Like most (be honest please), I was trying to build up my number of backlinks so that my site/directory would become more important in the eyes of Google (and the other SE).
As the SE still brings me the most visitors I will not change that technique. So, I keep submitting.

But overtime I discovered some sites that, besides providing me a backlink, also brings me real traffic… and there it becomes much more interesting. Most directory’s are just usefull to be listed in but, if you are honest, most never brings a visitor to your site.
Some, and those are the ones we’re all looking for, just work well on both. (backlink and traffic)

So here is what I propose to do. I think everybody knows at least 1 or 2 sites/directories that are really good in bringing traffic…well… share it with the community here.

As I start, I’ll give 3 links that provide me a good backlink and at least between 1 to 5 unique visitors every day :
