Default Reciprocal links; technical question re link to e-mail.

If I link to another site's e-mail address and they link to my website, does that count as a reciprocal link or a one way link?

That is very good news VPN thanks. This automatically upgrades all the links I can get like this. I can offer other people a good write up in our site, even with their web site address but not hyperlinked, but give them an e-mail link.

I've read recently that Lady Google are downgrading reciprocal links a bit.

Depends where the reciprocal links are placed on each site.

Well placed links are not being downgraded, reciprocal or otherwise.

Old Welsh, just a tiny bit tighter - am I reading right that the usual reciprocal links pages, such as I have on my site are being pushed down in importance, whereas if I put them into a narrative text, they would be better that way.
But one way links are even better still?

Because that is what I'm planning to do. Add serious visitor-friendly information to that page but include the links in the body copy.

Agreee completely, it is natural to have reciprocal links. Remember that a perfect link strategy is sloppy!

One way link if they link your site, but if they want some reciprocal link then it's reciprocal....

Got it?

He means that on his site he is placing a contact email rather than a weblink. on their site they place a reciprocal.

It is VERY odd, and would only really work if you had details of the other product or site etc and were placing the email as a point of contact. As in holiday letting etc 'enquire about this property' for example.

I've spent my life doing odd things, even very odd things. You know what? Most of them don't work, 9 out of 10 of my ideas fail.

I've learned to appreciate failure because you always get something out of it. For example I've learned to wrap up the lossmakers fast, fast, fast. The first loss is the best loss. I watch the early numbers like a hawk.

The tenth idea makes a £million. Over time, rather more than that.

Old Welsh has it right. He has odd ideas too.

ps If you do the same as everyone else, you'll end up as average, and who wants that on his tombstone "He was an average sort of person"

It is one way link. One way link is difficult to obtain than a traditional reciprocal link.

Ideas are what make money, if you do not have your own ideas, then you will NEVER get the first to market big bucks As you say john, 9 out of 10 fail, but as long as the 10th makes more than the 9 losses and covers more than your time spent, then you are in profit.

Ideas = profit.
