Default Domains with Google in the title

I found a search term that was searched for about 65,000 times per month according to overture.

Did a domain check and the domain with the exact search term was available.

I tried to buy through namecheap and it said the domain had been removed from my cart as it was banned.

Tried godaddy, took the payment etc then got an email saying the purchase had failed and they would try again within 24 hours.

A few hours later I got an email saying my account had been frozen and that I had to provide copies of my passport, other id docs etc that had to be faxed within 24 hours ?

Is there a rule that stops you registering domain names with company names in the title ?

Anyone had any experience with this ?

They will probably hand over the information about you to Google so Google can have a field day with you in court.

I wonder if they will fry you or barbeque you live in court?

Google probably has the intellectual property rights to exclusively use anything with Google in it.

I don't think Google would take you to court. Be very bad publicity seeing as you never even got the domain or profited from it. Just don't expect to get the domain.

That sounds a bit heavy handed!

Ah well, I never provided the info.

I didn't see any harm in what I was doing. I don't think they'd try and take me to court just for trying to register a domain with there name in it, there are loads of websites that have google in the domain that don't belong to google.

Anyway, they can take me to court, I've not got much that they can have

Here is an interesting article also.

Googlerankings has this disclaimer on the site - "It is however a tool that uses the Google Web API to find domain names within the list Google.com shows for a given search, thus is powered by Google. Our service operates by the courtesy of Google Inc., and has been given permission to run by their legal department."
