![]() | I am not sure weather it is a question or suggestion? I think this post is composition of both. I want to ask the owner that why he is turned on the option of locking a thread after two months? It should be always open. If someone visits the forum and he want to answer or want to ask something on an old thread. then what should he do?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Though not I'm the owner of this site, but i thought you will be happy if i tell you the answer for your question. It is a protection against spammers. There are a lot of PR3-PR5 older threads cashed by google and those pages would be very popular among the spammers if they won't be closed when they are not changed for a 30 days long period.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi there, We changed this quite a while ago to stop spammers from bumping their own threads, and claiming PR juice from old threads, as Bagi Zoltan said, PR3-5 threads would be very popular among spammers if these were still available to post in. I agree completely with the rule, and you would if you had been here as long as me, it is really annoying coming to the forum to find that loads of old thread have been bumped. That's what iWEBTOOL has better than all other webmaster forums. Haven't you noticed in some places like DigitalPoint you post a thread, literally 2 seconds later a thread from 'months' ago has been bumped over yours? If you really think necessary to open an old thread, ask a member of staff, if it a webmaster related thread, which will no doubt spark conversation, we will be more than happy to open it again for you. Regards, Kieran Taylor. |
