| Regular Member | Aah well, I dunno that, basically they offered better search than those available at that time and that clicked with the ppl. It actually took off in a big way i guess in post-2000. The thing is, it takes time to GROW. If you have some service to offer which you think might help even a few people, start out, develop, sell, discuss, develop your ideas...and people will be more than willing to help you out! I guess, thats how every small person, company starts... An Idea Can Change Your Life ![]()

There is 1 really good one out there, I can't remember the name, but it costs like $100 per month to use it. I am pretty sure it uses a really up to date feed though. Try viewing NewYork or Washington in Google Earth, it is in complete 3D view, very neat. | |

![]() | google as a search engine has ruled for a while IMO but lately i have heard people that have never/very rarely use the net talking about "googling it" i just love google becuase it gives mostly good results for the exact thing your looking for its very fun to watch msn/google/yahoo come out with exactly the same things and battle for it ![]()

![]() | Yep, no getting away from it, Google is a one off. I hope it doesn't stay that way. I think that they need some serious competition because at present, it seems to me that they do what they like. I think its so out of order the way new sites get penalized (yes I have one, but so do millions of others). I know they (Google) do it to avoid spam etc. but I think that before they start effin' about with a thousand and one different applications that they should get the SE sorted out such that it really does supply relevant up to date info. As long as young sites are more or less stuck at the bottom of the pile, this won't happen. The way things stand, I sincerely hope that MSN becomes as prevalent as Google. |

![]() | It's funny because in the last year/year and a half I get MUCH more accurate search results when I a use yahoo than google. I used to soely use Google..not I rarely do (for my personal use).
