How to increase Alexa rating?

How can you increase your Alexa rating? Any tips?

You could also use something like UpMyRank, to make it so you browse peoples pages with the alexa toolbar and then they browse your page automatically.

Alexa Ranking is based on the users, unless you are interested in Alexa in particular I would not find it such a concern for a site. More energy could be spend on making the site better for both users and SEO. You could try asking your friends and family for help however, as Flipflop pointed out.

Alexa ranking is just about trafic. The thing is, it can be any kind of traffic - god, bad - it makes no difference.

Alexa rank is in no way truly representative, because its usually only webmasters that have the toolbar installed anyway!

Don't worry about alexa rank......it doesn't regulate the traffic your website receives, nor gives a true indication of what traffic you are receiving. Its only really good for people who are selling a domain and want to prove to a seller how 'good' that domain is!

Depends on your site relevancy. The higher the indexed pages, the better..which means the more content your site has, the better

I agree with salmonbones, Alexa rating is not relevant. It only records traffice from users with the alexa toolbar. I wouldn't worry about it, unless you want to sell your website or something, then do what Flipflop said:

Yes, I agree with jwd25. If you have a great content, you will get a lot of traffic to your website from search engines absolutely free. Then it will increase your traffic rankings. Of course, the content is the king.

That might be true but some advertisers like text link ads and adbrite still use Alexa ranking to determine the value of links on your site. :sad:

If your site is related to SEO and similar, your alexa rank will be much higher, because alexa only counts the peoople that have the alexa toolbar and the alexa toolbar is generally used by SEO people
