Toolbar PR is nice to look at but isn't a relection of how you will place for your keywords. Keep building links using the variations of anchor text to empower your keywords and phrases - the silly little toolbar thingy will increase over time. If you really want to rush the process just use a green magic marker and color the bar in on your screen - same effect

This is the question I normally ask people
WHY do you want a higher PR?

PR is needed for 2 reasons,

1. to get your pages importance and keep them out of the suplemental index.
2. so you can sell links

PR & Ranking in the serps are as far away as man and woman.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the 'only get a few each month' mantra.

To be successful in Web Marketing you have to think like a search engine.

A friend who was a barrister said to me "Dear boy, the greatest trait in business and life is sincerity. Once you learn how to fake that the world is your oyster

I had THOUSANDS of backlinks to my rugby forum when a spoof picture I did went viral. it didnt affect the site badly because they were all natural links. Once you learn how to fake natural links the world is your oyster LOL

IMO, PR has nothing to do with SERPs... and SERPs are more important than PR

PR is Googles indication of NUMBER of Backlinks.

Nope, PR is googles level of IMPORTANCE for a page. It is not a straight numberical thing it is an algorithmic calculation to give a value of each outbound link from a page (including internal links).

A site with 5 links from PR8 sites, will have a higher PR than a site having 30,000 low value links. (all other things being equal)

As everyone already said, don't focus too much on PR. PR is just a number that Google uses to determine the importance of your page. It mainly depends on the number of other sites that link to your site.
If you are getting enough traffic from natural listing from search engines, I would not worry too much about PR.
PR is important if you are trying to sell links.

Welcome ,mate ..
only 3 PR 6 will buckle you up to PR 5.
But what all earth do you need PR ,your SERPS depends on "relevant link in " anyway, the more you get link, the more you go up .
