Default Large file download usage of CPU

when one buys a shared hosting, in spite of bandwidth, the hosting company will limit the peak usage due to high usage of CPU

the high usage of CPU occurs when numerous visitors come at the same time

imagine that a few visitors are downloading file (we know that downloading file needs less usage of CPU in comparison to loading many pages)

in the latter case, there should be no problem of high usage of CPU and one can use his bandwidth

am i right ?

any idea ?

CPU usage is different for all sites, it's not exactly correct to assume that a site with more visitors will hog the CPU more than a site with less as there are a number of factors that will affect it, for example if the site uses a server side scripting language, if the site requires and uses server components and how much interaction with said server objects the site requires to function.

Take it a step further and it's not always right to assume that two similar sites will have similar CPU usage as one maybe optimised more than the other.

Maybe it's the step needed to reach the download file that are causing the CPU issue, assuming the link or information about it, is on a page.

If it is only file download, there should not be much CPU usage. You might actually be able to make use of high bandwidth being offered, without getting kicked.
