Angry Adsense = Dead

I'm pissed off with adsense last year I was making about $20 a day. Now I do not earn more than $0.60 even though I've doubled impression and clicks.

Here's my stats for the last 4 hours

impressions :2,872
clicks: 147
CTR: 1.64%
eCPM: US$0.14
Earnings : US$0.39

$0.39????????? what a f'in joke? If i'd recieved 147 from my Askjeeves affiliat i banner I would recieve $7.50

Which means as a publisher I'm being skanked...big time! anyone know of any decent affiliate programs better than adsense?

Not prepared to give that out at this stage. However the site is based on Corfu - Greece, receives anything 4000-7000 unique hits a day depending on seasons (vacation/holiday seasons).

One thing I do when my income starts going below expectations is look at the sites that are coming up via the google adsense preview tool - I notice when the revenue fails I am inundated with sites that are AdSense only type sites. I add those to the competitive filter and my revenue climbs back - I go thru this about once a week and the game seems to never end.

If you want to look at other programs try these -

Yahoo! Search Marketing
LookSmart
Miva
Kanoodle
Double Click

If your site is getting that many hits a day, you might want to consider selling your own advertisement via a Platform like AdBrite or AdToll etc. I'm sure there would be many willing to buy ads off of you for a reasonable price. Big plus is that you can run them in-line with Adsense also I believe.

A very good post. I don't do ad sense now, but I can understand why it works like that.

Rep added.

This looks funny! Obviously there is something really wrong somewhere. Smart pricing is fine, but never seen anything like this!

If you are looking for alternatives, you may consider kontera. Actually it works together with adsense. Doesnt pay as much as adsense(the normal adsense rates!) but one of the better alternatives. If you are US based, obviously you may try YPN also.

and this are my stats for one day:

impressions :15,735
clicks: 60
CTR: 0.38%
eCPM: US$0.36
Earnings : $5.59

I also had a big probleme with my adsense stats. I used for three days the stats from MyBlogLog (shows out clicks but it seems that is against adsense tos to use such stats) and here I had 3-4 times more clicks than I had in my adsense stats. I tested the stats clicking on many links from my site. Does anyone know what's happening, why adsense stats are incorect? 3-4 times less clicks is too much!

I have an adwords outlink checker, and it regularly shows more clicks than Google. It even gives me the url and advertiser name. I am not sure why, but there is not a lot one can do about it.

Mine does too, infact i know they are unique clicks yet google "seems" to miss them.

I'm really p*ssed off to be honest, I know some Clicks are around $0.50 yet I'm recieving 0...looks like Google are just taking all the profits for themselves.

Adsense is dead.

Adsense is dead
.

For you maybe, but I get like $10+ a click regularly, so it isn't dead per se.

I find for internet-only type keywords (so domains, web hosting, blogs etc.) the money publishers receive is small. If you go for Bricks and Mortar style keywords, you'll do better. Saturated market and not enough money to be made per click for the advertisers now I think.
