Default Search engines behavior on redirected domain?!?!??!

when you redirect one domain to another one through the server settings, any visitor will be automatically redirected to the target url.

I am curious to know that search engine bots will also be redirected or will crawl the content of first domain?

If you are smart and you implemet a 301 redirect -which means permanently moved- the robots will be redirected as well

In other words, if you redirect site.com to site.net then it will show site.net's content and results on the search engines, and not the site.com. If you don't have a good code for your .htaccess then here is one I highly recommend.

Just be sure to change the variables to your information.

Code:
RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.se-illustrated\.com [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.se-illustrated.com/$1 [L,R=301]

You may use .htaccess or a PHP/ASP script depending on the webserver you are using. 301 redirects works!
