Default min. post count

I think is dumb. I don't really want to discuss other topics right now. I want to discuss directories but have to post in other forums to get my post count up. It's dumb because some people don't have time and will move to another forum, which I'm already thinking of doing. I think it should be lowered or taken off.

Are you talking about in regards to posting to a forum and not getting a count for it?

no for just posting in any forums that have a min. post req. I just made about 10 posts and it's saying I only have 4 and need 5... when I have 5 right now! I want to post my free directory service and contribute to this site, but this post req. is annoying. I'm about to just find another site.

With this we keep spammers from coming in and just posting one thread and then leaving. If you think about it, it's actual the best move I think every forum owner should do.

Sorry but this will never be taken off. Like it or not, it keeps the forums tidy. And you stated the exact reason why we have it;

Feel free to do this, we would rather have dedicated members who have the time.

Regards,
Kieran Taylor.

^uhh no, that's why other forums fill up quick because they allow you the freedom to post where ever, whenever. But like you said, it'll never change so it's w/e. Post requirements don't keep anything "tidy", it's a restriction.

NavyCS will become famous soon enough
Default Re: min. post count

There is not a single reputable SEO forum on the web that doesn't require a post count. Some are even nofollow no matter how may posts. You mention, "I want to post my free directory service and contribute to this site...". Is the directory the contribution or do you have knowledge to share? There is no minimum post count required to share knowledge. If the directory is the contribution with no follow up then just post the name of it without the .com, we should be able to quickly find the directory via a search in our SE of choice.
