![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Good Afternoon everyone, I have been discussing with the rest of the staff of iWebTool, and have been given the opportunity to talk with you a bit about a new team that will benefit iWebTool Talk, in which is called the "SEO Advisors" First I'd like to say thank you to all of you who are very active in all of the forums, and consistent in all threads and posts that need attention. Your help and dedication to the forum is really appreciated in all thanks by the members and staff. I'm going to go over just 3 things that I find to be very useful to the community, and you let me know what you think. This has everything to do with the new team that is being built for iWebTool Talk. 1) The first topic is "Activeness". People here are always active, and nice to see them pop in once in awhile to see how things are going is a plus. I have seen a few faces that are very active, and always on the go on every thread and post that is needing attention, and by doing this we want more of that to keep the community growing in a very fast pace manor. Allowing yourself to be dedicated and open to discussions to the members is what the community and staff are looking for to keep us where we are on the web today, and with that being said, activeness is what we're looking for and enjoy seeing on the forums. 2) Next we'll discuss "Respect" I know we all have our ins and outs of how we do things around here and talk to everyone, but with the up most beat of respect "even though it kills you to do it" we see it a lot that people doing this and we thank you very much for appreciating what others have to say. It is important that we show respect to everyone, you as a member of the iWebTool Talk represent this forum and showing how you behave is how people will see the rest of the community as. Providing full and 100% respect to everyone, even those you don't even want to give it to, deserve it just as much as the person you spoke to before because we represent a forum that people look up to. 3) Last but not least, "Willingness" giving the opportunity to show that you're willing to open your time and schedule to help someone is a the heart of the iWebTool Talk. People love it when you take the time to give them the support they need the most, and knowing that you're willing to stop, and hands down help them out with what they're needing support with is a true dedication on many behalfs of the community. Now that we have cleared this up and you see my point of view of what the SEO Advisors team will be doing, I would like to know from you what you would like to see, and if this is a team you would like to see on iWebTool Talk. After we have come up with a conclusion of what needs to be done, and if this is something you "the community" will approve of, then a one week monitor will be done to find out who will be on the SEO Advisor team for iWebTool. Thank you. |

![]() | You list 3 very good attributes you are looking for in these team members:- Activeness Respect Willingness I think you also need to add Knowledge and place it high on the list.A genuinely knowledgeable group/team could only be an asset to this community. I frequent (not as often any more) another SEO forum, I won't mention any names but I'm sure most will know the site I am talking about, when I say the core members there are very 'Knowledgeable' but are condescending and arrogant with the advice they share, so if you can provide a group that has the expertise and the attributes you have listed and does not have its own heads buried up each ar**'s then you'll have a winner ![]() Good luck to you and thank you for all the hard work and ideas you have been investing into the community recently

![]() | Hi, Just thought I'd share my view with you all in answer to the 1 or 2 posts regarding the forum. I've been a poster/moderator/admin on a few sites and these are the things I pick up/have picked up. 1) Posters with more posts tend to be the most respected, listened to etc. While this maybe fair in some cases, it is not always fair to take any advice views etc from said poster as the most respected or the correct info just because they have posted more than another member with less posts. This is an open forum. A forum that I was a moderator on, removed post counts due to this fact, new people were joining and not getting a fair say etc because they only had 5 posts and the person they were talking to, asking a question, debating with had a few hundred posts. Leading to people posting, "good post" or "good info" or "thanks" etc etc just to get their post count up, the rep button is there to thank people, but some just tend to thank everyone that has ever posted in order to get there post count up. Disabling (viewable) post counts would bring this forum to be a lot more close-knitt in my opinion. 2) Members spamming This forum is open to abuse, but has a good mix of moderators to see that that is not the case. However, same again, members posting to say "thanks", "good info" etc, with 4 signature links at the bottom of there post should be classed as spamming. Links are given as a privelege and shouldn't be abused. which leads me to number 3 3) People spamming other posts.... i.e - I've been having a few problems on Adsense etc Responses like: Hi, Look at these SEO PRODUCTS with a link to their own site. Fine, let people offer their services to others, but with the same type of response to different questions on different subjects is just abuse of the post count/signature link(s) I like browsing the iwtt forums as I'm still picking up tricks and tips all the way, but think some of these things might help. Anyhow, this is my opinion, it was asked for, so I responded. Good Luck iWTT

![]() ![]() | I agree with Websub above. While I try and reply to anything SEO/SEM related, it grates me to see the amount of spamming that goes on, sadly by a VERY small number of people. In one case recently someone asked about a specific SEO tool, and the reply was along the lines of 'don't waste your time with that try these videos' (HIS VIDEOS). When that is allowed to happen, it TOTALLY undermines the objectiveness and can lead to a breakdown in trust between members and the forums. It is for this reason that I refuse to accept affiliate offers for scripts I recommend like Keyword discovery, wordtracker, esyndicat directory etc. As long as I am recommending them with no monetary gain, I hold on to my perceived objectiveness. Another 'issue' I have is what appears to be staged conversations between people. I often see a thread started asking a question that doesn't ring true, then along comes another member and posts the reply, which happens to be a link drop to their site. Finally, and there is not a lot we can do about this, but some members appear to be just drive by spamming, I.E. they turn up once or twice a week and make about 20 posts or so, but NEVER follow up on any threads they post in even if they are quoted or challenged to do so, it is as if they are working to a 'spamming the forums' routine (Which I believe they are). Knowledge is king in web marketing/seo, and forums are one of the best ways to share that knowledge and grow it as a result of co-operation. Some people however abuse this, and ALL they want is a couple of hundred backlinks with their chosen anchor text.
