![]() | You guys act like us database programmers aren't programmers or something. Just because SQL uses set theory instead of procedural logic doesn't mean it should be left of the list when discussing 'programming'. Just kidding. But it would be nice to have an SQL/Database section. If I overlooked it, I apologize, please point me in the right direction. |

![]() | No T-SQL or ANSI Standard SQL? What about postgre? I'm just yanking your chain a bit. I'm a database programmer for a fortune 100 company, so I tend to be a bit biased towards my various SQL programming languages. MySQL is probably the best DBMS for small to medium sized web based applications, so you've just about got everything covered. But in the next 5-10 years, some of these small web based shops are going to make it to the next level. And when they do, they're going to need the kind of business intelligence only a REAL dbms can provide. Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, or DB2 are really the only choice once you get to that level. |
