No, don't jump to any conclusions. I'm not a bad guy, or troublemaker at all. They just have some pretty liberal definitions of what 'bumping' a thread, and after several month, I've reached the limit of infractions I am allowed. I'll be unbanned on friday, when 3 of my infractions drop off.

In any event, I understnad I need 10 posts here to post in the buy or sell, so that's why I'm here, telling you my story.

I've been a programmer for over 10 years now. And although my professional career is in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, my hobbies include web development, search engine optimization, and website promotion.

In my time, I've done a ton of ecommerce developmnent. I have developed over 100 ecommerce websites, and consider myself an expert in osCommerce, and am becoming an expert in zencart and other carts. I intend to participate an any forums here that I have a knowledge of.

Anyways, that's my story.

DP does have heavy rules and stick with them fast, as we do the same. I myself am very quick to notice small things just as any staff member here is. Bumping threads under 12 hours is not acceptable in any terms.

I don't hold anything against people or the things they do, but what you do here is what stays here at iWebTool and handled by the staff.

Glad to have your expertise here, it's nice to see an osCommerce expert as we don't have many of those on the net these days

I've read them over. Most of the issues I have had hae been how they interpreted my post to be 'bumping'. For example, my most recent infraction was in my first auction style post. I was auctioning off on of my signature spots, with a starting bid of $1, and a BIN of $7. The first poster wrote, "Would you take $3 for it"? A few hours later, when I read his post, I wasn't exactly sure what this meant, as it sounded like instead of a bid, he was making an offer. To me, and offer is different from a bid, in that it is limited to a very brief amount of time. So, I posted that I would accept his 'offer' as a 'Bid' and that, as per the terms of my auction, if no one else bid within 24 hours, then he would win the auction. This reply was considered 'bumping' and I was charged 2 infractions.

Not sure how they do things over there, but to me it sounds like whoever the mod was that banned you wasn't clear on the situation, but I don't bash DP for their work they do, completely out of my hands

To me that is an offer and different from a bid, so you're correct on that count, why they banned you is beyond me, but again that is something you can discuss with them when you return on Friday.

The argument would have been that you should have PM'ed it not posted in the thread. I know it is arsey, but most people just hit the 'new posts' button when they return to a forum, and bumped threads were a big problem a while back on DP.

I guess so. But in an auction thread, I would think that any conditional 'offers' or 'bids' shoudl be clarified by the thread owner so everyone else is clear.

In any event, I'm not trying to badmouth, just explaining why I'm here. Looks like there's decent traffic here as well, so I might stick around a while.

Don't worry i have been banned from Dp like 10 times just have to wait till the infractions run out.

They even ban their best members, which is so wrong. I have see a guy with 10 000 posts banned, just for minor infractions. They don't have any respect their for senior contributors.

And they ban good members like me and you and let those scammers stay on taking money from the innocent. Like that Han80 guy, took $900 bucks from some guy, his account is still active.
