Because I'm 15 and a lot of people judge me for that... Actually when I started at 12 it was a lot worse. Should get better. Just don't listen to those 17-year-old know-it-all's.

Ya. I like your site. Its professional. I am going to change my template and the web designer. I really hate the computer teacher who sucks at computer. I hacked it and got all the program. They are so stupid...

PHPBB is good but lacks security. There is a mod to reduce hacking, it is not very known, but can reduce remote exploiting.

Just remember that phpBB is good, but it's free. Although I will still admit it is my favorite forum software.

You can deny posting without registering and almost all bots will fail on your phpBB copy.

Also, you can deny access from known spammer IP subzones.

They just do an automated register and automated posting then... I know this from a current experience.

Vbulletin took over phpbb , even though phbb had some advanced mods that can protect hacking and stuff but i like Vbulletin =)

I'll Agree with TaiSoft, i wish i can get the copyrights for phpbb , fully customize it and start selling it like Vbulletin , hell lota money =D

Image verification is a mod that's tedious to install... nobody should ever have to touch code

All the boards are the same.. no differences.. if PHPBB can be hacked.. so can SMF be.. and IPB.. and VB.. it's all about the security measures tht u have taken.... so. simply enable visual confirmation, email-activation, AND the best of all, moderator approval... the last option will totally destroy all chances of this bot registering in your forum!!! how's tht?

And yet... they're all made by different people... are structured differently... have different levels of security... have different prices, free or not, and have different themes. yeah, they're very much the same

You need to realize some forums are built more secure than others. vBulletin and IPB are the best ones, SMF is the best free one, as far as security goes.

If you require moderator approval I guarantee you that you'll lose 95% of the members you COULD have on your forum. Besides, you won't always know if a pending user is a bot or not

Why even take the risk? There are so many other free boards out there that are just as nice if not better which are not targeted.
