Default Backlinck checker vs Google PR prediction

Hello,

I'm starting with SEO, it's really interesting !

Now I have a question about backlinks :

I set up a new site 10 days ago and submit it to many directories
when I search Google for mydomain.tld on google it finds about 150 answers
but when I search for link:mydomain.tld, no result

Now I saw on a previous topic that this info is updated by goggle about each 3 months ...

But I try the backlink checker on the main page of iwebtool, and i got
5 days ago : 4 BL's
a few hours later no more BL's
4 days ago : 7 BL's
a few hours later no more BL's
3 days ago : 31 BL's
and again a few hours later no more BL's

Where does this tool finds these BL's, why don't they stay and grow ???

My last "working" backlinks check gave me 247 BL's ! But they're gone again
And a predicted PR of 3.8 (still there, thats why I wonder if there's no problem with BL checker, cause as I understood I uses BL's to compute the PPR)

Thanks for your help

Hey, I just checked now, and the BL checker works again, it gave me 503 BL's
Note that 400 of them come from the same site cause I have a link on all their pages, hope this will not be considered as spam by Google ?

Hi Steve,

I guess you've got a good reason for not anwering... I just hope I didn't made something wrong, if it's the case please let me know...

Now I noticed a few more interesting things:

BL checker seems to be more often available in the afternoon (for me, 12 to 24 GMT+1). this could mean that depending on the hour of the day BL checker has access or not to these info...

BL's reported for me are from Yahoo and not Google, and as predicted PR grows with these BL's means that Google takes Yahoo's BL's in consideration, no ?

I made a test with another site, wich has PR3 and predicted PR5, this site has only 2 BL's on Google (from noPR pages) but more than 1500 BL's on Yahoo.

It would be great if someone could help me or at least give me some indication about where I could find these infos

Thanks

Hi there,

I confirm tha BL checker gives results in the evening (GMT+1)
I have now 900+ BL's

But using another tool I can see they all come from Yahoo...

Hope I'll find somebody willing to help a newbie...

Yaknet, different tools show different results. The iWebTool PageRank Predictor application estimates the Real PageRank value using a really unique method.

Hi Bagi Zoltan,

First thanks for your answer

I know iwebtool Pagerank Predictor is unique, cause all SEO sites that have it link to yours.. ( That's a good point for IWT ) and I know you wont tell me how it works.

My main question is why IWT BL checker often reports no BL and only works at some hours, while other similar tools always display a growing number of BL's ?

And my second question was about having 500+ BL's from the same domain (cause I have a link on the left frame that is displayed in each dynamic page, for example each user profile of the forum). From what I understood it could be considered as spam or bombing by Google. What's your opinion about that ?

Really thanks for your help

I have checked my PR prediction and I get different results every time I do it. Sometimes it says that I have insufficient BL even thou there are more 800.

Same here. I find the PR prediction quite confusing.
