What do you want from ur web host

I operate a Web Hosting service, and I'm interested in finding out what people really want in a web host. Post your suggestions here.

Well, very good speed and good connections ofcourse and probably the rest of the usual stuff.

But what I have noticed is that there is no more small webspace big trafic packages anymore.

Instead I buy reseller packages and host my domains there. In need of different ips, you either buy ip blocks (not good enough)

I have some domains that use only 30-50 mb space but traffic is 1000 mb/mo.
To have different ips I pay extra..

Datacenter/host has problem , all your sites goes down.

If you were to supply 100mb space / 1000-2000 mb/mo bandwidth then I would have choose to buy 3-5 same package from you.

And ofcourse I would buy this from different data center hosts again and again.

Decent reseller packages with reputable hosts are 20-25 $ /mo with additional ips 5$/mo or what ever..

If there was hosting plans 0.50 /mo or something like that and perhaps paid yearly and available from different hosts/ different datacenters I would have not bought resellers but individual packages.

Currently I host over 100 domains in 3 different resellers. 30+ of them are my sites.

Interesting points there hasbehas. In these days of massive space and bandwith offers , that lets face it never will get used.Its refreshing to hear a sensible view of whats required.
Most sites actually take very little space, so why the need for it.
I suppose the market demands are due to this.

Quick response on every issue, that's what's the most important I think. The extras don't cost a thing for a host to offer, like DB's and email accounts, so limiting those means that I won't patronize that host. Also, the latest in the freebies like PHP 5.0 and MySQL is important as well. Honest web space and bandwidth is importannt too....If you say it's 500GB of webspace, don't lock my account because I put 350GB of files on it....Price is important, but not really...I would just as soon pay $25.00 for a good host as I would $5.00 for a crappy one.

I agree.. Sometimes it quality rather than the quantity..

I must be an old softy then, i regulaly let some accounts go a small amount over but then they have been with me for a long while.
of course if they abuse this or go over for a regular time i offer them a higher spec.
Quick response is my issue,but i think i may have the answer to it soon.

You want to attract SEO's ; do a host with dedicated ips per account/domain (preferably different blocks) small space, mysql and decent amount of traffic.

Thats it..

I agree with jumpenjuhosaphat

Support response time is the most important, Also they need to know what there talking about. Nothing is worse than a support tech who doesnt give u a strait answer or doesn't have much knowledge about your inquiry.

For me:

1. Support
2. High Uptime
3. cPanel
4. Reasonable space and Bandwidth, not necessarily very high.
5. Reasonable price.
6. Dedicated IP
7. Few (2-5) add-on domains with diffrerent class C IP.
