| Re: Green Rep Points: Why doesn't... I need to contact yahoo again, they told me two times that they don't. Thanks for letting me know Chart, I'll ask them again. Update: I was able to contact a nice lady (Lisa) and she explained to me that both files are supported, and apologized about the other two reps who did not explain or know their information correctly, and e-mailed me this link as just a small detail showing yahoo does accept them. http://messages.next.yahoo.com/next/...1&tof=13&frt=2 Green rep still given as I love to be proven wrong on stupid acuzations  Last edited 06-08-2007 at 10:26 PM. |

| Re: Green Rep Points: Why doesn't... Just for information you don't need to submit your xml format sitemap via Site Explorer you can just put Sitemap: http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml.gz in your robots.txt file on a line on its own for auto discovery.

Sitemap is not a necessity or guarantee for ranking well. It MIGHT help well for bigger and complex sites to get more peages indexed. Google/yahoo doesnt give any guarantee about it at all. Still worth doing it for bigger sites. Small blogs may not need it at all. | |
