| Junior Member | Has anyone else noticed that Google is doing some really strange and BS stuff? A few questions for you that i would really like a response to: 1. Why is it that Google is ranking certain websites really high for a keyword that doesn't exist anywhere in the code of a page? 2. Why is Google giving a high PR to websites that have less than 100 back links? 3. Is Google giving precedence to sites who are doing adwords over those going for organic results? I don't know what is going on with Google at the moment, everything seems to be up the creek. Any explanations or comments would be great. |

There is no problem with Google they have change their algorithm lately... When Google changes their algorithm the SERPs is affected. There are many factors affecting the rankings in Google... The Domain age, the targeted keywords, quality links, the optimize page, and other SEO stuffs.... ![]() | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 1. google sort the websites mainly by relevance and the off page relavance (links are much more important the keyword density or any other on page factor) 2. Only one link is enough for the PR8 as i know if the link giving site is PR10 so not the quantity is the important, but the quality (PR, and the relevance) 3. I'm not sure that this statement would be true, but if it would, than it doesn't suprise me at all. Google postitioning itself as the SEARCH ENGINE, but it is rather an online advertising company, and it may reflect in phenomenon that you experienced. The Google Inc. is mostly concerned in the AdWords system since it generates the direct income, not the organic searches. ![]()

Can you prove this? I doubt that this is true.. and even if it's true, don't you think that it's very illogical to immediately give a PR8 to a site with only a single pr10 link? (especially with all the link buying that's happening..)

![]() | I try not to pay attention to BL count in google. I still link build, buy posts from blogs&articles, links etc once in a while , but as in paying attention to number of links shown in Google, I dont. I have a site that has over 1300 BL shown on Yahoo, but not a single one on Google, site has PR4 and has been for years. what would you think ? ![]()

Telling the truth I not really have relevant experience on this, since my site never get any backlink from a PR10 site but according to the best PR explanation table i found so far i didn't say nonsense. Check it out. ![]()

1. Backlinks. Quality backlinks overrides onsite contains. 2. Why not? Quality over quantity, also Google doesn't show all backlink so who knows if a site actually has less then 100? The site in my signature has over 10,000 backlinks - Google however today only shows 66. 3. I don't think so. What might be happening is that more pages from a site with adwords is being listed as the Google can access this in some way, the specifics of which I've long forgot about. search Matt Cutts site for info on this.

![]() | Bagi, my site achieved PR2 with relatively very low backlinks and 1 miserable backlink in Google registry. Sometimes, am afraid that if I cancel my Adwords campaign, I would lose my PR. Any truth in this since we are on the topic of Google ranking. |

This is due to keywords used in links pointing to the page.

you really concerning too much. and indeed there is many proof that pr is granted higher than it should be. As IMO... the backlink from high PR webpage does play the major role. So focus on it
