Default Website SEO Score

Hi,

I'm not sure if this goes here but I just found this site that calculates how your website is doing, what needs to be changed to make it get ranked higher, etc.

http://www.websitegrader.com/

If you don't think this thread fits in this forum, I do apologized - I did look low & behold. So many forums... i just don't know - if I'm breaking the new rules I will try to refrain from posting

Default Re: Website SEO Score

It fits very well considering it's not directing towards Google (for example).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

A website grade of 46 for www.prioritylist.info means that of the thousands of websites that have previously been submitted to the tool, our algorithm has calculated that this site scores higher than 46% of them in terms of its marketing effectiveness. The algorithm uses a proprietary blend of over a dozen different variables, including search engine data, website structure, approximate traffic, site performance, and others.

Google Indexed Pages : 5
Measures the approximate number of pages on http://www.prioritylist.info/ that have been stored in the Google index. The Google web crawler will visit the website periodically and look for new content and store it in its index. Generally, the more pages a website has within the Google cache, the better.

The last time that Google has crawled http://www.prioritylist.info/ was May 28, 2007 @ 07:35 PM
Google Crawl Date : May 28, 2007 @ 07:35 PM
Google will periodically crawl websites looking for new and updated content. In general, it is desired to have the frequency with which Google crawls a site to be higher, rather than lower. Sites that get crawled more often have more frequent updates and more authority.

Inbound Links
Google: 0
Yahoo: 940

Alexa Traffic Ranking : 622,371
Alexa is an online service that measures the approximate traffic for millions of sites on the Internet.

The website http://www.prioritylist.info/ has a ranking of 622,371. This means that it is the 622,371th most trafficed site on the web -- as measured by Alexa.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

My competitors are 50pts higher than I am (I won't say who) but I would say the directry has about a good few months until it catches up if I keep doing what I am doing right now. Not bad for being since the 24th of May of this year.

Well there are more results, but I think you get the idea of the layout for this

Great tool, very useful. I'll bookmark this and add it to my favs for my site viewers. Thanks pepperpot!!

It's fine, thanks for trying to post it in the correct section, that's what truly counts. I did think that it would be better placed in the SEO forum, so I moved it there.

I'm quite fascinated with the tool, but not sure how good some or it's info is.
For example the number of Google index pages is gives don't match either the figure that you can manually get from Google or the one using the iWebTool Domain Trends tools.
Some of the stuff was not aware of before. Like this.
Quote:
Heading Summary
Similar to how newspapers and magazines use headings and sub-headings to help readeres, websites can use special tags in their HTML. These tags not only help human readers read the content, they also help search engine spiders better understand the content on a page and what is most important. It is generally a good idea to use heading tags to help signal to the search engines, what the web page is about.

What I found a bit interesting, yet odd was the level of reading was a grade level, not sure how they pulled that out, but ok we'll let that fly as a side dish of what is good. The tool is great, but some of it's factors seem a bit over done, but not explained to where the viewer knows exactly what that tool is telling them.
