90% of webmasters are not responsive or you have no clue what is going on after your request. So if we try to use services like linkmarket you are not 100% guaranteed you are going to get an inbound link, even if you get them it will not be crawled by the world's number 1 search engine. It makes me think what is the point of building the link? At this point the only thing which can guarantee a good amount of traffic is the quality of the content and how easily you present that to search engine. For marketing, The other easier way would be placing outside the internet (like paper ads, notices for dashboards...). If you website is useful for some one the word of mouth will automatically bring the traffic to your website. Now every single directory is trying to charge money without even checking their quality on search engine and its very expensive. I think now google is attempting to work how to qualify (earlier they were quantifying) the validity of a link so all these small directories which makes money now is going to be vanished in few months. Since there are very few search engines people trying to use, I believe the quality of the internet is went down. I may be wrong. | |

| Re: Best way to promote your site Nothing against your post kitenish, but viral is not the answer for (anything) just another buck to spend to wait a few weeks on results. If you really need to get visitors, post to blogs about your site, the services you offer, how long it's been up, (BACK YOUR INFORMATION UP) and let them know you have solid ground on what you're telling them. Next step is to submit to directories who are SE Friendly (Search Engine). These guys will give you a good push to your next page rank and also if they have a good page rank and are listed in the first few pages of the search engines by popular keywords, such as "baby shower gifts", tour guides, resorts, etc etc. Research your options before making a drastic decision on where you want to point at when it comes to advertising your site, business personal blog, etc etc. Join affiliate programs and make sure they're legit (this when you get a decent amount of traffic and you want to make some sort of a income) but don't let that be your financial stand point for your life. :p Also make sure you read good SEO Tips & Tricks to optimize your site and then you will get that traffic. Hope this helps and is an eye opener for you all. |
