Between 1 day and 2 years....It really depends mostly on the category you are trying to get listed in, and your site.

I've also noticed a number of old sites in the DMOZ that are no longer functioning. I'm really surprised that some of these tripod and geocities sites even made it in there.

Even with their number of editors, I doubt that they can still manage a directory with almost 4m listing without any problems.

It takes years or month to get listed in DMOZ. You may read the links on How long does it take for my site to be listed in the ODP? http://dmoz.org/help/submit.html#howlong

Waiting on DMOZ now. Hope it's days or week rather then years.

If they drop your review, then it'll be 5 days But if you get approved, could be pretty long depending on who the editor is for that category.

What does drop your review mean?

Keep an eye on the category you submitted to, if it gets updated and you did not get included then that's a good sign that you did not get in and to resubmit.

The biggest issues is the editors, some categories do not appear have active editors, I've done several doctors/health centre websites over the past year and every one was included within days of submitting (same description for all, except for the site name etc) apart from one which was submitted to Cornwall > Health, still waiting 6 months on for that one

They dropped a lot of editors (meta's did) which would also explain if you don't get approved or declined, it's just that they dropped a lot of editors, possibly the best ones too.
