dash in domains?

does a single dash affects the value of a domain?

there are some .net alternative domains but I prefer a .com domain.

I think that a single (1) dash would be better than a .net extension, yes. However, dashes really do decrease the value of a domain name as a whole. It makes it much less quality and worth less if you ever chose to sell it. It also might make whoever has the domain name without the dashes get a little angry... chances are against this, but they might even warn you to take down your site. It's rare, but it happens on occasion.

No, I would think .net would be better than a dash. A dash just looks unprofessional and is hard to remember

all depends on the name u registering
some time - is good infact

but most of the time decreases the value

The hyphen makes the domain look ugly, but it is really good for SEO purposes. Find another .com without hyphen (don't go with .net or hyphenated version).
