Default Google confusion.

Not sure how to exactly title this, but I have a client who is noticing a few things about his website. His words are this:

Quote:
Lately, I've been checking
to see where my site ranks for a couple of phrases. I
recently began showing up again for "online
sportsbook" on about page 11 or so. The weird thing
is that one day I'll show up and then I'll totally
disappear for a day or two before popping up again.
Today, for instance, I'm gone off the search results.
Any idea what's happening in Google's world with this?

I am not sure what is causing this either. Any ideas? Would it be because Google is working on their next major upgrade and keeps re evaluating its websites?

Thanks...

How long ago was this? I believe a Google update just finished... or is near finishing.

It's the Google dance! all search engines do this unless you are just plain out dominating a keyword or phrase. As sites get indexed the serps get a little erratic. MSN is bad about this as you build your sites strenght.
