Ways to get Traffic ?

I have been working on some blogs right now. But not been able to get good traffic over there. I want to know how to get more targetted traffic to a blog. So suggest me some way out buddy.

Try to SEO target a specific keyword. Something that is small, let's say 50-100 searches a day. Once you've reached Page 1, target higher and higher keywords. This is the best way to get targetted visitors, IMO.

I think it has something to do with getting a lot of friends and sending out bullitens to them all.

(Another reason I hate myspace, so much spam!)

Also, profiles w/ hundreds or thousands of friends are very valuable $$$

I like to write article then put them on goarticles.com and be sure to include a link to your site in the article.

Every where you go, try to leave "your mark", it also help putting your links in you sigs on forums

I think what you have done here is a start, posting at forums will give you a small boost, but try submitting to loads of directories, and think about link exchanges. Also, if you write good articles in your blog, you can publish them in literally thousands of places on the web, and each occurance of your article should include a link to your blog.

Also, like kenni said, concentrate on keywords. You can look up search statistics at several places that show how many times per month keyphrases and keywords are searched.

When you submit a link to a directory or a link exchange, the relevance of the content of that site is given a great deal of weight. You can improve the relevance by including keywords in your link, like the following:
<a href="http://yoursite.com">keyphrase here that describes your website</a>

Also, try to concentrate on websites that have a pr greater than PR(0). I only submit to PR(2) or better. Also, if you offer a reciprocal link, your chance in getting include increases a great deal. When I include a reciprocal link, I place a page on my website that links directly from my home page, some directories or link exchanges won't accept you if it's to deep into your website.

Also you can find online communities and have your friends and collegues take a look at your site.

Join communties like technorati and del.icio.us and recommend your site there.

Also, if you want your blog to be popular, you will have to make sure you add content to it as often as possible, there are blogs that are operated by only one person that are updated and added to several times per day.

There is a story of a 22 year old kid that operates a blog, and works on it for 3 hours a day from his parents house, and makes several hundred thousand dollars per year. That's from a single cell phone blog.

There are lots of things you can do to improve your traffic, but none of them will be effective unless you are willing to put hours and hours per day into it until you get it going.

Here is my idea, its a bit stupid but it would surely work.
Basically try and get you site on T.V! E.g when the SuperBowl is on, try running on the field with your url printed on a black t-shirt with white text, or even better hold a flag up
