Default Easier to get listed on MSN?

Recently - I've found a couple of my sites get number 1 listing or top 2 or 3 listing for some of my keywords/search terms.

To be honest, I got one to the top that had little or no actual text content to do with the search phrase - however all of my links had the anchor text for that search term.

A new site I started has been listed number 1 for 3 of my preferred search terms and number 2 for another 2 or 3 - and that is without optimising my site.

I literrally typed up a few paragraphs and it is now listed high on MSN for quite a few of my main search terms.

Yet I am nowhere to be seen on Google for these terms.

Are MSN not to up on the SEO ?

They are probably one of the biggest companies in the world yet Google and Yahoo provide the most search engine visitors.

Any thoughts ?

Have the same positive results as my site appears at top 10 search list in MSN. Checked & found out my competitors has at least 100 backlinks in Yahoo registry and 10 in Google and their sites appear top 10 in Google.
