Default DMOZ hasn't enough editors...

Hi,
in my modest opinion DMOZ is a superlative directory, and it means that only quality sites are included in,but there is too much time to wait for being included in while there are not enough editors, and the sites submitted for review every day are growing faster and faster.
Why they don't take more editors?

I don't know, but I put in for a position as an editor a few weeks back and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Obviously they don't think that they are in need of editors.

You know, normally when a category in which someone wants to be an editor is full (for being full it must have 100 sites of the same category) a new category is assigned to this "future " editor. It means that this editor won't be as relevant as he could be in his proper category, and then he will need help from other editors. For this they have an enormous job to do.

And also because the number of submisions is enormous, the number of off-topics is enormous, the number of spammers is enormous, and they become mad to fix all this stuff...day by day

The reason it does not have enough editors is because they turn down offers from people. I wonder if they are actually going to shut it down. After that big trouble they had when some dumb*ss accidentally deleted their backups they have been getting worser and worser. I wonder if AOL is going to copy that directory into a new one and make it paid directory. Yahoo charges $300.00/year for listing. AOL has been going down the tubes for a long time now this could be their way out of red ink.

Yeah, probably it will depend on the "charity" of the editors soul, and personally i know some "very nice, correct and charitable" people there (well, they are bombed by a lot of curious website owners, you imagine...)
but they don't care....they don't answer !!!
