| Member | Hi, it seems that blogs increase your pagerank more than directory links. Is it true or is it a "good story to tell" ? The druid |

![]() ![]() | Not true. The nature of the site does not affect the PR that is voted. The only elements that affect it are the number of links on the page. (all other things being equal of course).

![]() | It is true to some extend. The blog is another way of attracting traffic to your main websites. You can add articles which attracts users as a result traffic to your main site also increases. Well, I am benefited from my blog. |

| Member | Oldwelsh, you said that it depends on the links on the page (PR). What percent do you think is right for a text of 500 words? Four, five or six? And do you think that deep-linking will help the same increase of PR? Thanks,Oldwelsh The druid |

Page rank is roughly .85 of the pagerank value of the anchor page divided over the amount of links on that page (internal and external). This is the base algo it doesn't aways work this way, but it is a good guide. So a PR10 with 10 links should transfer PR0.85 per link 5 links on the page should double the value etc pro rata. Deep link, homepage etc makes absolutely no difference to the base PR algorithm. although Deeplinks are better for SEO. There is no real ideal volume of links, just link if it is relevant.

![]() | I agree with OldWelshGuy. The less links already on the page the better!

| Member | Hi Oldwelsh and hi everybody so (don't beat me if I didn't understand) more links in a blog= less force of each link (deep link or home makes no difference) less links in a blog= (maximum four I guess,if not it is spam) more force of each link Right? Or have I understood nothing? The druid |

![]() ![]() | Links ona PAGE not a site. PageRank is page related only so internal links also count as PR is transferred via all links (unless nofollowed). So your internal categories, your comment links, your blog roll links etc all count as links for the purpose of voting PR. BUT don't limit your links to save PR as if you are after rankings then you need to properly theme your site.

| Member | Yes,that's why I'm trying to make some blogs with ONE page only. All the links blogroll and all the stuff u said will work on THAT page and only this one (the theme is always given by the category you give to the posts or that you create,if I'm not wrong) The druid |
