It sound very difficult to rank top. Is there any quick fix...?

Hi there,

There is a quick way and that is to accumulate lots of strong backlinks, with a high PageRank, preferably get a link on a page with very few backlinks (as this increases the link juice you get off the backlink). If you do this Google will then reward you with a PR they think is right for your website, and Google has just done an update on PR, so I suggest you start now, you have about 3 months left

There are a lot of free directories, so you don't have to spend money if you don't want. For first step I suggest you to visit Directory Critic where you will find nice sites for your niche.

Otherwise PR is only one part in calculating search engine rankings, and links from directories not the best way to improve the relevance for a certain keyphrase. Try to get some links from blog content as well.

Hi Kieran, how do u get strong backlinks? Why will the website owner with strong backlinks provide me with one if i don't even have pagerank of 1? Any great suggestion?

Just found a DirectorySumitter. A directory submission gets you tons of quality - 1 way links. It looks very useful and it has a Free version for you to download. Any comments...?

When you buy links, look have to look out for fake pagerank!!
By using redirects you can fake your pagerank!

so check every page with: http://www.verifygooglepagerank.com/

Get many links pointing to your web site even with zero pr and quality content will encourage others people to exchange links with you.
You can start by using linkmetro.com or similar web sites to exchange links.
