![]() | Hey all, I really want my official website to be #1 for a few search queries: matt holt matthew holt compuxp matt's projects mpr-en matt's projects e-network matt's projects network If I just got people to link to my official site with any of these keywords (e.g. a link that says "compuXP" that goes to my site) - would it boost my site's ratings for those keywords? Would this be considered Googlebombing? Thanks, -Matt

![]() | 1st question. YES. second question is no. you are asking for these links. googlebombing is when you are NOT asking to rank for(most of the time) bad and degrading keywords. but many webmasters googlebomb you with a negative keyword. like the word "failure" brings George Bush and Michael Moores sites in the top 5 for any search engine. |

![]() | another good think to do would be include the most important of this terms in the title and put the rest in <h1> on your page, because this shows google that these are important things in your site. but you proberly already knew that

![]() | Yep, I knew that, but I still need to keep my site professional; I think that using those keywords in bold wouldn't fit too well. However, I use them in alt and title attributes when I can.

![]() | yes you can inadvertantly google bomb your self. If 100% of you links have the same anchor text then google tends to filter you from ranking for those words. as long as you have a mixture of different anchor text then you should be fine. Ranking for your name is usually pretty easy unless your share the same name as a famous person. |

I don't think so. Googlebombing will be when you associate some term with another that DON'T contains that first term. Pushing google to find your site as relevant for terms very related (or that includes part of your own name or your site/product name or features) is not googlebombing but just a normal Google SEO.
