of course you try this way: submit your articles to article directory www.articlexpose.com (PR5) get oneway backlink and more traffic to your site

One thing that works well for me, is using my link in my sig at other forums. I try to post on forums I normally wouldn't go to a few times per day to get my link out there.

Depending on your content, you might be able to write a free column in your local pennysaver-type newspaper. I guy I know in florida writes a monthly column on computer maintenance; at the end of each article he can put it "Joe Schmoe is the owner of www.computersite.etc.

Also, if it's a real business and not just an affiliate-type site, you could do a standard press release. It's amazing how much stuff in the newspapers is generated by a lazy reporter reading some company's fax.

I suggest Social Bookmarking of your website to increase traffic. Blogs also help you to get a good amount of traffic - if you are going to update it frequently.
