Put alt texts on all your images... It's helps for SERP...

And you must use static url rather than that asp (dynamic url) ...

If all of your URLs are dynamic you should probably consider making it static pages....

rewrite your url to static one... to make it SE friendly and easy to crawl...

use this link: http://www.webconfs.com/url-rewriting-tool.php

All in all your page is excellent and neat....

Adding alt attribute text to images only helps if the images are links as the alt attribute is then used as the anchor text.

The site is clean, but yu MUST get more text into your descriptions or you are going to find yourself thrown into the Supplemental index. Get some GOOD backlinks to your site as well and a few high PR ones to propagate across your site.

It looks ok, and you can rewrite the urls using ISAPI rewrite for windows IIS servers (asuming that is what you are running on as it is ASP. (the link above is talking about HTACCESS which only applies to Apache servers.

jewelery is a VERY competitive marketplace, so you are seriously going to need to work on your keyword research and optimisation step by step if yu are going to make money here. As a newbie PPC is probably going to be an absolute no no for you due to the volume of professionals working in the marketplace already .

If every product has a unique description (which most have) surely they wouldnt be put into supplemental? im not too sure how much access ive got with the urls - those where supposed to be seo friendly! , if i wanted to get ranked in google for say 'armani watch' what would be the best way of doing it?

There is not one single reason to go into the Si, although it is fair to say (IMO) that a lack of trust based on poor page rank is the easiest. If a considerable amount of your page content is duplicate AND you have low PR, AND you have identical descriptions then yep that will do it. But any combination of the others might also do it.

I would not expect to see a 10 word description for a £250 ring. I would expect to be shmoozed a little, with more information that got me how. The aim of the description is to SELL the product.

' Imagine her face when she opens the valvet gift box with deep blue silk lining that all our high quality rings are packed in, Imagine her face when for the first time she gazes upon this 18 Carat gold band, she will experience breathtaking glee as the light reflects into her eyes from the 21 Pure South African Diamonds mounted in the brightest platinum mount.

A ring like this SCREAMS I love you, but when she eventually manages to remove her gaze from this ring, and as she looks into your eyes. tel her you love her.

And sex is guaranteed for a week

OK I wouldn't put the last line in but I am sure you get my drift. SELL the products. NO-ONE buys a ring on logic, they buy on EMOTION, so sell the emotion stir it upo, paint the mental pictures for them. And they WILL buy more.

Im taking your advise and have at least adding some more description for the all the rings and a few other products, I have tried to use keyword text in all opening sentences and also started to make all my alt image tags unique. I hope this helps lol

You could link out to pages that are relevant. for example where you mention the carat value, you could link to an internal page on your site that explains the carat rating of diamonds. Same with gold etc. That would make the site architecture better for both users and search engines, it would also boost you for those terms as outbound link anchor text weighs a lot heavier than normal text.

I know you are using a shopping cart so are limited by what you can and can't do, but I would advise you to take a real good look at features on it. Does it have a customer comment facility? that is always good for getting interactive content.

I know this might seem an odd question but who/how did you get your keyword research done?

Thats a great idea - i never thought about that! Alot of my keyword content is based on bits of research from overture popular keywords program and also things which people seemed to search for when I was running adwords. I may be well off mark with them I just don't know , its one big learning curve for me Thanks for the pointers , its great getting advice from knowledgable people.
