Usually we charge by project, but an hourly fee for consulting or small jobs is not uncommon. A beginner might work for free or $10-20/hr. USD. A seasoned programmer can easily be $100/hr. USD.

![]() | PHP programming charges are becoming much more standardized, and the US workforce tried to fight outsourcing. A seasoned PHP programmer is expected to make around $35 per hour. There are some guys that still get projects, nad are paid at or over $100, but they are now few and far in between. |

| Junior Guru | Here, I'll try and give a deep answer for this: By project, beginner: $10-30 an hour By project, average: $40-60 an hour By project, corp. / expert: $100-500 an hour (500 is average for corporate work) By year, beginner (the below are US): $45-50,000 By year, average: $60-75,000 By year, expert: Over $100,000 Hope this answers you question pretty well.
