![]() The Yahoo submission really is worth it. You get quality links from all of Yahoo's international directories as well, and each has it's own subdomain, which acts like a separate domain as far as backlinks are concerned. It helps your rankings in both Yahoo and Google.

With coolguy27 on this one - I've never had to pay yahoo a penny. Submitted my site once with them, then once again after a major redesign to speed the spiders up into crawling my site again, and I'm at No.1 for my target keyword phrase "String Quartet in Scotland" Make sure your keywords/key-phrases are used in all your header tags (not just h1 & h2), included somewhere in your title tags, you have unique title tags for each and every page, you use strong and em tags well to emphasise the genuinly important sections of content within your pages... Even using keywords in your alt image text helps too, I think. Just use your keywords often, and in the appropriate places and you'll get there. Good luck. | |

![]() | Google stated they're going to stop attributing importance to paid links. I think this is going to be an excuse to take away Yahoo!'s revenue stream that they get from the paid directory. Does anybody else think the same? Maybe I'm just a cynic. |

![]() | Get a non commercial site, submit it to Yahoo Dir, if it is approved in Yahoo Dir, get the links from the first site. |
