![]() | I'm new at the whole buying and selling domain names thing but what exactly makes a domain worth more than any other domain? And for that matter, what makes a bad domain? Is there a system or something people go by or is it just luck of the draw? |

![]() | An uncatchy domain with 20000 backlinks in google would still be worth alot. There are lots of free appraisals like http://www.swiftappraisal.com/step1.php but they are way off! Have a look at how much expired domains are selling for at tdnam.com to get a realistic idea |

![]() | Well depending on what topic they focus and what demand that topic has, like lets say, everyone wanted to make a runescape website and there was a domain runescapeheaven.com the price would go up, but if only 2 people wnated to make runescape websites then the price would be very low if someone even bought it.

![]() | Catchyness - Memorable Intuitiveness - (something that users intuitively try entering - even without searching for it. Here's an example - I keep getting offers on a clients domain because it is 100% intuitive. Most recent offer is $15k. He hasn't budged yet.) Shortyness Trendyness - Is it riding the wave of some current trend? (and does it tie into intuitive names?) Having it be a .COM is also part of the intuitiveness - people automatically think of .com before anything else. |

![]() | 1. Length. 2. Extension. 3. How catchy it is. In case it has some history themn consider it. Don't overestimate the importance of the domain age: it's as important as it has any quality backlinks and you aren't going to change its content. |

| Junior Member | This is how..I valuate the domains. Length of the name (2 - 15 characters) Should not have hyphen or numbers. Extension - .com is the most valuable, .net, .org, .info, .mobi, in ccTLD's - .co.uk, .us, .de, .es, .in Popularity of the keyword, phrase. (150,000 terms in google or yahoo) Monthly search volumes of the particular keyword, phrase. (500 + searches in overtrue) It should be easily Readable, It should be Memorable, it should be Brandable and it should be Marketable. |
