 |  Suprise Suprise DMOZ is down again. Can't add an URL. It's down more times than it's up DMOZ...why don't they just completely rebuild the whole system?

  | Re: Suprise Suprise Up and down more times than a kangaroo in the mateing season.. Honestly though, if google are going to intergrate its search engine in with there site.. atleast give them support/contribution. At the moment, Dmoz is soley run by contributions..

| Re: Suprise Suprise DMOZ cant continue for long in its current form. The directory is alrady used by Google and Alexa, amongst others, it's run by volunteers, its almost as much off line as on, it takes months to get listed. Either this needs to become a full time operation, or given some real support.

| Re: Suprise Suprise I have as well been wondering as to why the most important directory on the web is so poorly maintained. Especially since Google, Alexa, and AOL are using it. Can't those three hire some real employees? Makes me wonder why is it to their advantage to keep it so unstable. |

| Re: Suprise Suprise Well, when Dmoz first came out, it was a comunity run site, very much live Wikipedia. Yes, as mentioned above. Google, Alexia and AOL use the site.. and Generate alot of traffic towards the site. I'm sure google atleast should be kind enough to either give them a fixed amount of £/$ a month/year or atleast donate new hardware or support running it.

| Re: Suprise Suprise since dmoz was down,, ive not submit again my sites... its just a waist of time... maybe when they finished fixing their site, ,that will be the time ill send sites...
