![]() | Hey, can you please review my site for SEO. I have tried hard to make the SEO good on this, and it has paid off as google toolbar shows I have a page rank of 3. What do you think I can improve on? http://www.podja.com/ Cheers, Jack

![]() | Just a quick question. Should I have different Keyword and Description tags on each page, or should they stay the same sitewide?

Yes, you should have different title tags, meta tags for different pages. Each page is supposed to have its unique content. These different contents should be associated with different keywords, descriptions, etc. It is just one way to let search engines know these pages are different, rather duplicate contents.

![]() | Some sort of site map and navigation system would be helpful to get spiders to your deeper pages when you create them. The site has the potential to do well, but it is all about the content you create and how you go about promoting it and getting link backs.

![]() | I agree every webmaster should strive for clean code but it really has no bearing on the "content" the bot records, this was stressed during SES Toronto. The keyword meta tag is useless - ONLY Yahoo and Googles Media bot (AdSense) even recognizes the keyword meta and only then counts the keyword meta as content - it plays NO roll in SERPS - if you already have the word/phrase in your regular content there is no reason to repeat it in the meta tag. If you are going to use the keyword meta the reserve it for common misspellings (although Yahoo trys to correct spelling mistakes in your search) or "other" english spellings of words ie. jewellery and jewelery, if jewelery is in you content then put jewellery in your meta (the American and English spellings). There is absolutely no reason to tell a bot to FOLLOW - it is what they do for a living - only use the nofollow noindex tag when needed. I only recommend the meta description if the first content in your code is what will be the first content on every page ie, sitewide links and such. If the first content on a page is unique then don't waste your time creating a description meta tag - it plays no roll in your keyword/phrase placement. I am thoughoutly testing these and have some results - follow the test and my conclusions on my blog if you wish. As a web site designer/marketer billing a client for the time it takes to create these tags is almost stealing! ![]() H2-h4 tags do improve serps when done inteligently - keep in mind these basic uses; Whenever possible don't have a tag repeated with the same phrase as another tag on the page. Whenever possible do not repeat a word in the same title or h tag. Remember, the first two to three words of your title and h tags are THE most important. Lastly, the title="" attribute is NOT considered as content and plays NO roll in SERPS in Google, Yahoo or MSN. Hope this helps. |
