![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So we all spend time to get the good old Google PR. We are all waiting with baited breath for the update.(for god sake man press the button NOW!) How long do you think it will be before other search engines start their own PR system, and how long before its as important as the Google PR. Or indeed will it ever happen? Your thoughts.....? ![]() |

![]() | I remember reading Yahoo already had a page rank but they abandoned the project for whatever reason. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have a feeling that before too long Google is going to quit with PR. They won't tell you what value it adds to your page, and no one can figure it out, so the value that people place on PR is all guess work. A PR 4 might be equivilant to 2 PR0's for all that we know, which means a link back from a PR0 site might have about half the value of a PR4. But we just don't know. |

![]() | I wouldn't mind if they got rid of it all. This PR stuff can easily get very expensive for small websites. But in the meantime I will have to go with the flow.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It doesn't have to be expensive. For some of my sites I haven't ever paid for a link. In fact, I've only paid for web site promotion on one site. And that's just because it's a directory that will hopefully also be charging for links. |

![]() | These 3 SE have no algorithm to follow with regards to PR. What algo will they will be using? Are they going to follow what google has? .... It's a very time consuming.... Every updates requires a lot of hard work and time.. |

They all use a PR like system in the sense that pages are ranked heavily by a web of link popularity. Trust Rank and Clever (http://www.almaden.ibm.com/projects/clever.shtml) seem to be the future. As for will the search engines display a rank of how important they think sites on the internet are.... probably not though it might make sense just to increase seo traffic to their domains! | |
