Hi, can someone explain disadvantageous of flash website over SEO. I never made a flash website but thinkin of one.

Hello dear Searchacar!

Unfortunatelly the flash site cannot be seen by the search sipders. They only can see a file. And that's all. If u're planning to make a flash site, i can advise u not to do. U can make it in html or php and u can insert some nice features in flash as well, but the main site should be php.

thanks for your reply. Also I need to confirm, is it possible to make data driven website with flash. Like php/mysql websites.

Hi searchacar, yes it is possible to create data driven websites in flash to an extent.
But you will have to learn a bit of actionscripting in order to do so.

The problem remains as Berti has said that search engine spiders will not pick the website up as flash is a separate application. I would advise you to just have some parts of your website as flash. You can blend it in very nicely with some of the tools available now.

Top banner, header is in flash and everything else is a normal website would/should be.

A good resource for flash files and tutorials is www.flashkit.com
