Thumbs up Blogster.com sells for $100,000 - and new owner had to ask for an appraisal?

Already, Colan and Harrison have re-written all the software on the site and re-launched it with more features including image uploading, a nicer interface, and pre-built templates.

Shortly after purchase, Colan posted the domain & site for appraisal on a thread at NamePros. Most, if not all, appraisals were beneath what it sold for.

This transaction and appraisal demonstrates the power of end-user sales.

Wow, cool! ^_^

Wow, can't believe it sold for that much though. Nice pocket change.

Really, if I had that much I would buy a Lambo, trick it out, and win even more from car shows. Or I would buy a huge chunk of Google stock.

The reality is almost no domain name is worth some of these high prices. If you were purchasing the entire business, I could see such a price tag. Just for the domain name?

Even with all the domain name speculators out there, you could have found another name to buy for a very small fraction of that price, or else you could have came up with a new one and then spent 50k on advertising and brand marketing.

The end result is you would have likely been in a BETTER position and had $50k more in your pocket.

I have rarely seen any of these high priced domain sales that were a good buy for the buyer. The seller is always walking away the huge winner.

All i'm saying is...liquidate your assets, people, that way they can be stolen and you won't realize it till months afterwards. Which, I assume, will let you be happy for 99% of the time till the 1% where you find out you got "jacked" (and not in a good way).
