Linking to a sitemap?

Does Linking to a sitemap help.

I am talking about a sitemap like for example Sitemap

Will it help the pages get indexed.

please only answer if you are sure!

Yes eprosumer, it will help. You will not get higher PR for it, but you should consider to put your site map URL on the homepage, and as close to the beginning of the page, as possible.

In this way, your pages will get indexed and recognized by search engines in the quickest way.

It will help you get your pages indexed but once a page is indexed I take that link off the sitemap.

That is just something I personally do.
