OK - the Google bar does not show a rank BUT I looked at the google servers through iwebtool [ http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_checker?domain=doraville.com ] and all servers show PR3 !

is this a temporary mistake that google will change quickly? will it go back to zero?

it is true that the domain name http://www.doraville.com is a one word domain, and the name of a city in metro Atlanta, however - PR3 in 3 days?

If it's never been registered before, then no, it's not possible. But what might have happened is that your site has been registered since before the previous PR export, and the data centers are showing PR from then.

the domain name was a forward to http://www.cyberatlanta.com before - a pr3 site ... could that be related?

Probably a fake page rank due to redirection.
