Default How do you go about advertising your directory?

How do you go about advertising your directory?
Of you pay for your traffic, who do you advertise with?

And if you don't pay for your traffic, how long does it take for your site to take off, and how many backlinks do you need.

My directory, Prowler Directory
is suffering from no traffic due to lack of interest.

Directorycritic, info vilesilencer and so on.
They are my main source of traffic fro my directory.
And forums too, like digitalpoint and so on.

Solidghost...hmmm...I see you promoting DP etc. but not one of the forums you happen to be a Mod on.

I feel let down.

why should he be? He's not advertising forums, he's just giving away some suggestions.
