| Member | Hi, I’m currently thinking of changing the layout for one of my larger websites. (PR4, #1 Google - Competitive Keywords, 900+ Back links, 350+ Pages of content) I'm in the process of changing the layout of my website, to see if it will draw a more corporate client end of the market. It will be a complete new layout, but will have the same Meta Tags, Body Text and content. I know google doesn’t index the graphics and such, but will my change in overall code effect my position at all? At the moment, google is our livelihood, if we get affected on there, business will struggle for a while, so I just need to check this issue first before I make a full upload. Richard - Webmaster

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | In my opinion the design has a great affect on the ranking. For instance the text links are much better in seo wise than the image links. Creating the design without table is also a way to boost your search engine position. Basically if you don't use javascript menu and the internal navigation will be the same the change will be very moderate on the rankings and on PR as well.

You should be fine. As long as the content, on-page optimization, and URL's remain the same, you should experience no significant change. If you improve the design, you may even get more links to your site. Just make sure your images are optimized so they don't bloat the size of the page.

![]() | IMO, as long as the content, back links and any other significant is still the same, it will do you no harm. |
